Another option is to use a plank or step stairs. This is done by measuring the distance between your plank and the bottom step of the staircase. To accommodate the plank passing through a rung of the step stairs as well as the overlap of the plank on each step, add a few feet. You will want to be able to hold the plank against the rise on the next step.
Open the step stairs and place it on the ground in front. Slide the plank under a rung of your step stairs so that it is parallel to the top step of the staircase. Be sure to level the plank. It is not advisable to add any material to the highest step on the staircase.
Step stairs & Articulating Stairs
Another option is to use articulating or step stairs and a plank. If you do not have the equipment that you need, you might consider borrowing or renting it.
Open the step stairs located at the top. Set the articulating step stairs at the top of the stairs. Partially open and adjust the articulating platform so that it rests on several steps upwards. Next, place the plank between the step stairs at top of the stairs and a rung in the articulating staircase. To ensure safety, the plank should be as straight as possible.
